When it is time to shut down for the winter.

Well, it has been an extremely long season this year.  Or, at least it feels that way.  We can start with the paver, or asphalt in general I guess.  Lakeside is shutting down today for winter maintenance.  Granite shut down last week.  I suppose we will shut down also.

Things to do.

1. Rest

2. Christmas party on Monday.

3. After the 1st of the year we will need to start addressing oil changes in the dump trucks.

4. Welding all the hand tamps, vibe plates, and rakes that broke this year.

5. Going through all the brakes on each of the trucks and trailers.

6. Maintenance the sealcoat bulk tank.

7. Maintenance all the sealcoat trailers and flatbeds.

8. Purchase new shovels and rakes before end of the year to reduce tax burden.

9. Order new safety vest for the next season.

10. Find traffic paint...lol.

11. Make sure our suppliers are ready to go for next year.

12. Change all the wet batteries to dry cell batteries.

13. Install new patching gates in new dump truck.

14. Check all the tires and purchase what is needed.

15. Check windshields for cracks.

16. Inspect all the lights on all the trucks, trailers, equipment.

17. Sell surplus equipment at Ritchie Brothers.

18. Re-staff office, estimators, and production personnel from all the retiring, moving on employees.

19. Refocus on how to deploy our profit for the future to provide when we can no longer hustle.

20. Take a trip to Mardi Gras

21. Take a trip to Egypt

22. Take a trip to Jordan

23. Take a trip to Sacramento

24. Take a trip to Tennessee

25. Rest some more.

26. Get ready to do it all over again in 2022.

It all starts with an estimate...

Where does the parking lot repair process start?

So like I said, "it all starts with an estimate".

1. What usually happens is an owner of some kind needs to have a pothole repaired, striped, crack filled or even sealcoated.

2. After identifying the need for the asphalt repair, they usually call 1 to 3 local asphalt contractors.

3. Once they call, we usually visit the site and measure all the work requested.

4. We take all the information and pictures we gathered on site and create a detailed proposal.

5. We then email the customer the estimate.

6. 2 days later we follow up to make sure they have all the information they need to make a decision.

7. Furthermore, we touch bases in 30 days if we have not heard back from them.

8. The estimate usually has 3 ends,  1. Won  2. Lost  3.Undecided.

9. Then the phone rings and we do it again.

Our company Tacoma Asphalt and Sealcoating company is here to server all your asphalt needs.
